HOW TO DONATE TO THE RESTORE
DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED from 9:30AM-4PM, WEDNESDAY- SATURDAY
218 Downeast Highway (US Rt.1 next to Jordan’s Snack Bar), Ellsworth
Please see changes in what we are accepting, effective immediately, below.
EASY DROP-OFF: When dropping off a donation, please pull up to the loading dock on the left side of the building (gate swings in at truck bed level). Please only drop off during our open hours to allow for screening of items.
PICK UP SERVICE: We provide limited free pick up service for large donations in Hancock County. We try to cluster our donations to maximize staff and truck-rental time and to be good to the environment with our driving practices. Please contact the ReStore for more info: (207) 667-3082 or fill out our online request form:
TAX DEDUCTIBLE: We will provide you with a receipt which may be used for tax purposes; receipt is an itemized list but the donor sets the value of the item for their own taxes.
With the upcoming scheduled closing of our ReStore in August, accepted donations will be limited to stock which typically moves quickly at this time of year – furniture, appliances, full cabinet sets, exterior doors and double pane windows – effective immediately. (Note: This will not impact donation pick-ups already on the schedule.)
*Guidelines only. Acceptance of individual items will be subject to staff review while donor is present. We reserve the right to turn away items because of condition, overstock, inability to properly display, hazardous disposal costs, etc. Items must be clean and in good or better condition [IRS Pub. 526]. NO DROP OFFS during closed hours, please; all items must be screened.
In addition to the ‘NO, Thank You’ items below, we do NOT accept children’s items or medical equipment, but we may be able to direct you to an area organization which currently does.
